UPDATE 12/18/06: Sid has found a permanent home without his partner in crime, Ben, but now that they are safe and well cared for, they`re just as happy to part ways! Update 7/2/06: " As these two sweet birds have gotten comfortable in their foster home, it is apparent they have very different temperaments. Ben is a conservative and gentle spirt who likes to watch from the sidelines. Sid is definitely a party animal. They have also declared some independence of each other giving an indication they could do well if adopted separately. They still are bird buddies so adopting them together would be wonderful."
Have you ever been able to count on a buddy through think and thin? That would best describe us. I`m Ben and my friend here, the cockatoo, is Sid. We are a very sweet duo who have recently landed on some hard times. At least that`s what the Mickaboo folks seem to think because, despite the condition we were found in when rescued, we`ve been very gentle and loving to all who have gotten to know us--telling you that in the past someone has really cared. We were surrendered to a shelter in a small, filthy rat cage. In addition to being severely plucked, Sid had an abscess on his wing (which with treatment is getting better) and me, Ben, well I`m just a little plucked. I`m the strong, silent type, and Sid likes to dance and play with his toys. We`re pretty quiet for being the big birds we are. And we`re best buds. When we sit side by side, I swing my wing around Sid to let him know I`ll always be here for him. Would you like to join our fairytale friendship by welcoming us into your home and hearts?
