Unfortunately, Tara passed away on 8/15/2006. She was a beautiful bird who had no fear of humans and enjoyed eating sunflower seeds out of peoples` hands. She will be sadly missed by her foster family and all of the Mickaboo volunteers.
I`m Tara, a member of the San Francisco Wild Parrot flock. I was found bleeding from a bad head injury and was rushed to a vet by a wonderful Mickaboo volunteer. I`m being treated for my wound, which is pretty serious, but hopefully I`ll be well enough soon to join a human flock and live a good life with someone who will give me a lot of love. I`m not telling my age, but my foster mom thinks I`m an "old school" bird since I have several battle scars, have no fear of humans, and seem to be very familiar with being fed sunflower seeds by hand. She may be on to something there, but ... well, I`m not confirming or denying anything!
