This lovely pair of orange (red bishop) weavers was rescued from an outdoor aviary after their owner passed. The pair was in a dark, filthy cage that was so crammed with weavings that the birds had no room to fly, as they could only hop short distances. Now they are in a very large flight where they are stretching those flying muscles. After the rescue, the first thing they did was take a bath! The next thing they did was fluff themselves dry under the heat lamp. If you can give this pair of beauties a spacious retreat, please let us know! The minimum flight size for these birds is at least 30" wide x 18" deep by 18" tall. But larger is better. South (or southeast or southwest) facing window is ideal. They are acclimated to living outdoors on the SF Peninsula, as long as they are in a well protected aviary in a sunny location.
