Hi, I`m your gal Sky. I`m missing my left leg, so i need a special cage setup, but I`m still very cute & active. I have an area on my left wing that I pick at on and off. I`ve been wearing this funny collar and it helped awhile but I`m a sneaky budgie and found a way to get around it and pick at myself again. Grrr. My wound has healed again so my foster mom is putting Soother on the spot I pick to see if it helps at all. I also get regular Lupron shots, which seem to help.

I hang near budgie friends during the day but the vet advised that I be kept separate from them. With the funky collar I wear, I can`t be in a regular cage with bars so I sleep in a plexiglass tank. I get lots of time out of the tank in the evening & lots of people interaction too since the other budgies get me a little riled up and I`m more likely to pick at myself.

I am a kinda high maintenance budgie and I definitely need a very experienced adopter. If you fit the bill, I`m happy to come to live with your forever home and I promise to be your sweet little friend!
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
