Hi, I`m Rocco. I came to Mickaboo in November 2020 with a companion budgie. Sadly I lost my companion to a tumor a few months ago. But I`m a budgie, and I bounce back quickly and I`m definitely looking for a new friend! I prefer budgie company to human, but I`m a bit tame & will freely eat millet or cilantro from a hand.

I am curious and interested in what is going on outside my cage. My foster parent says I am very good natured, but I can definitely get loud, making insistent chirps to let you know it’s dinner time. The moment I have your attention and know you’re getting out the dinner seed, I shift my tone and make very sweet cooing noises in anticipation of my favorite meal! Out of all the greens I`ve been offered here, my favorites are fennel and cilantro and my favorite part is the stems. Go figure!

I would love to join YOUR forever flock. Please?

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
