Hello! I`m Scoopette, a blue girl budgie who came to Mickaboo in December 2020. I was Scoop until my mama figured out that I am a girl! My mama loved me but had to move far away and couldn`t bring me. I`ve been with my buddy Mustard as long as I can remember.
My foster family has helped me change from free feeding to meal feeding, and Mustard and I are eating healthy pellets and dried greens now. I am always first to the food when meals arrive. We have discovered that a millet sprig is scrumptious as long as the fingers holding it are far enough away. We both enjoy gentle showers.
We love the little ditties our foster family sings for our morning, nighttime and bathtime routines - especially the night song which brings out happy-sleepy eyes from both of us. When we call for our foster-mom, she gives a call back and we often acknowledge her with a soft, cute call.
My guy and I would love to keep you company at your forever home!
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
