Hi we are Tansy and Sage! Not much is known about us except we were kept in a very small cage for all our lives, we are about 13 years old and are not really hand tame. Hopefully our new foster can help us be not so scared. Also no one knows our true sex and we aren`t telling! (in all their time together they have never laid eggs, this doesn`t mean they are not female, just we don`t know!)

We are loving our new large cage though and lots of good healthy food!!! Already we are showing interest in our foster mom, so yay it is a good start! We also are going to try to find out why I (Tansy) am plucking. Hopefully the healthy food and larger cage will help rectify any issues. Either way we will update more on us when we know more!

UPDATE from foster parent - We are not tame since we spent most of our lives in a very small cage. Tansy probably plucks as a result of these living conditions and there are some areas of her body which the vet said appear to have follicle damage and might never re-feather. She has limited wing extension on one side and does not fly well. Sage, on the other hand is fully flighted and will happily cruise your bird safe room. Tansy will attempt to fly, but she may end up on the floor. They will return to their cage as night approaches, especially if you remove the food dish during the day and then replace it when you want them to come back home to the cage. With some socialization and time to get used to the household, they may calm down and land on you. After only a week in the foster home they no longer become overly excited when the foster parent approaches the cage. They now have a new, larger cage to call home. They didn`t have many toys in their small cage, so they are not quite sure what to make of the toys in their new cage. They do seem to like the new rope perch and swing, and also use the various-sized perches.

UPDATE 10/21 Tansy is now considered special needs and fragile. After a hospitalization of a week she is doing much better and on daily medication. They love to come out and explore and are very good about returning to their cage. Mirrors are great fun!
