Hi, I am Freddy, a very cute male cockatiel about 8 years old. I was a stray in Sonoma County and spent a week at the vet because I had deep wound on my wing that is now healing. My photo looks a little funny because I also had an injury on my head and the feathers are now growing back.

I love the company of humans and other cockatiels as my foster mom will tell you. I am not great with dogs, cats or little kids, but older kids would be okay with me. I do not step up, but my foster mom cleans my cage daily and feeds me and I am fine with that so hands are okay. If you wanted to work with me, I could learn to step up and be a very nice companion pet.

I can do Zoom and FaceTime visits so if you are approved let the coordinator know and we can do a meet up.

In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
