Hi, I`m Buddy, a little girl budgie who came to Mickaboo in January 2022 with my gal pal Tweety. My family felt they couldn`t give us enough attention so here we are in a foster home. We came in been eating only seed, but our foster mom has helped retrain us to eat a healthy diet of pellets with seed.

I am used to being let out of the cage for 10-12 hours every day, confined to a bird room. I am a bit more outgoing than Tweety and I will step on my foster parent`s finger to eat millet. Wouldn`t you? Millet is the bomb! :) Although currently living in a flock, I still like to hang out with Tweety. We are confident budgies, and are usually the first to the food bowl.

I have started coming close to my foster parent when she chats with us. I am not tame but you can see how if you work with me I could become pretty tame. Maybe you have the time and energy to make me a happy forever budgie?

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
